March Horror Watchlist: What’s Streaming & What I’m Watching
03/14/2025
Happy March, Horror Fam! (Yeah, I know it’s already March 3rd as I’m writing this — it’s been a whirlwind of a weekend between streaming, prepping for my UK trip, and all the usual weekend chaos.)
With so many horror films streaming this month, I wanted to share my March horror watchlist — what’s on my radar, what’s worth revisiting, and a few new releases I’m dying to check out. Let’s dive into what’s streaming and what I’ll be watching this month!
Streaming Horror in March 2025
Shudder: Horror Gold & Joe Bob’s Return
Once again, Shudder is serving up some serious horror goodness this month — and best of all, Joe Bob and the Drive-In are back!
The Last Drive-In returns on March 7th, now with a new monthly format airing the first Friday of every month. This month’s premiere is extra special with Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills stopping by, and they’re celebrating the 100th birthday of "the first great American horror film." This is a can’t-miss event for any horror fan!

Classic & Cult Horror Streaming on Shudder (March Picks)
Christine – I haven’t seen this one since I was a kid! A John Carpenter classic based on Stephen King’s novel — excited to revisit this killer car story. https://youtu.be/ieBmy6qjiCI?si=DU8KbQ3mNlDlPPY6
Army of Darkness – Ash and his boomstick, what more do you need? https://youtu.be/CZ-wU5RXw2o?si=TS86fb_N4zSfEd9s
Evil Dead (1981 & 2013) – Two different flavors of Deadite terror, both worth your time.
Nosferatu (1922) – Silent era horror perfection.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) – One of the most iconic and visually stunning early horror films.
The Phantom of the Opera (1925) – The Lon Chaney classic never gets old.
New Releases on Shudder
The Rule of Jenny Pen – This one’s been on my radar for a bit now.
Synopsis: Recovering from a stroke at an assisted living facility, a judge encounters a psychopathic patient who uses a hand puppet to torment fellow residents.
Starring: John Lithgow
It will be released in theaters first and then lands on Shudder later this month. https://youtu.be/MPrnAV3eCCM?si=IfpwDk-zAKOO5Fxt
Bloody Axe Wound – This concept is too wild to skip!
Synopsis: In the small town of Clover Falls, Abbie Bladecut navigates the inheritance of her father’s real-life slasher business.
Starring: Jeffrey Dean Morgan
A review is coming after I watch! https://youtu.be/kN9dBKJpqmA?si=kCl2NiSajnNUOCYL
Hulu: Perfect for an Alien Marathon
Hulu is bringing the Alien franchise front and center this month, making it the perfect time for a marathon.
Alien Quadrilogy (yes, all 4!)
Alien: Covenant
Prometheus
Since Alien: Romulus is already streaming, there’s no excuse not to binge the whole saga.
Pluto TV: Hidden Horror Gems (Including My Favorite)
I feel like Pluto doesn’t get enough love from horror fans, so consider this your reminder: Pluto is a treasure trove for free horror films!
Event Horizon – I love this movie so much. Still waiting on that elusive director’s cut, but I’ll gladly rewatch this cosmic nightmare anytime.
Fun fact: I’m convinced Event Horizon directly inspired Dead Space — the vibes are too close to ignore. https://youtu.be/2nlkEY-3CMI?si=xoxTEatSwCVlrtnZ
Screambox: Horror with a Side of Dark Humor
Cannibal Comedian – This one had me at the title.
Synopsis: A psychopathic cannibal, frustrated with his lack of ambition, decides to pursue a career in stand-up comedy to find a little normalcy.
Bonus: Edwin Neal (aka the Hitchhiker from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) is part of the cast. Sold! https://youtu.be/pW6H7mE7XKw?si=wcaX2_6urirBchuG
Tubi: A Little Bit of Everything (and It’s Free)
Event Horizon (again – in case you missed it on Pluto)
Grindhouse: Planet Terror & Death Proof – Double feature greatness from Tarantino and Rodriguez.
Quarantine 1 & 2 – Okay, real talk —
Quarantine (2008) is a solid remake of the Spanish found-footage masterpiece [REC], and I can respect that.
But Quarantine 2? It’s a hard pass.
If you haven’t seen the [REC] series (1-4), please do yourself a favor and watch them all. Trust me — you’ll thank me later.
What’s On Your March Horror Watchlist?
I’m sure there’s a ton more out there streaming this month, but these are the ones at the top of my list (at least until my UK trip kicks off!).
What should I add to my watchlist? What horror films are you planning to stream in March? Let me know — I always love swapping recommendations with fellow horror fiends!
